WHAT IS ANNONA SQUAMOSA SEED EXTRACT?
Not normally utilized, the extract from custard apple seeds has been studied in a rat model to investigate its potential role in managing hyperthyroidism. Thyroxine (T4) concentrations, serum triiodothyronine (T3), hepatic glucose-6-phosphatase (G-6-Pase), and 5'-mono-deiodinase (5'DI) activity were the key markers of thyroid function in this study. The activities of hepatic catalase (CAT), lipid peroxidation (LPO), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were harmoniously evaluated to assess any potential hepatotoxicity.
