Acid Asiatic, also known as asiatic acid, is a triterpenoid acid derived from Centella asiatica (L.) Urban, a plant belonging to the Umbelliferae family and the ursane type of pentacyclic triterpenoids. Centella asiatica has approximately 20 species of plants globally, predominantly produced in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Australia, and distributed in tropical and subtropical regions.
